My teaching is based on Ashtanga Yoga and blends therapeutic principles of Ayurveda with elements of dance and creative movement. I have been teaching yoga 16 years and I use my experience to teach people how to tailor their yoga to suit their unique needs and aspirations. Each practice begins with creation of a heart-stirring intention with the purpose of cultivating Sustainable Yoga for Long-term Happiness. What follows is an individualized approach with myriad variations to satisfy each participant. I also incorporate poetry, music and occasionally, blindfolds to give my students a rich experience. This work is highly transformative and yet, we keep it light and we have fun. More about me.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am new to yoga. Does the retreat cater to beginners to advanced?

We tailor each practice to the participant, from newcomer to advanced. We take the time to create adaptations and accommodate each participant’s needs and objectives. The focus of the workshop style practices is therapeutic, so you will get personal attention and fulfilling experience.

Is the flight included in the retreat price?

It is not included, as flight prices change everyday. However, Rachel Neild, our travel agent will get you the best deal possible and the earlier you book, the better. We planned this trip around the direct flights to Panama City from Montreal and Toronto with Copa Airlines and Air Canada. From Panama City, it is only a short domestic flight on Copa or Air Panama to David, the city not far from Volcan. Rachel can assist you or you are welcome to book your flight separately.

Can I arrive earlier or stay longer?

Yes, you can! You are welcome to communicate directly with travel agent Rachel Neild to sort out these details or you can arrange them yourself. Just let us know your plans. After all, you may want to take the opportunity to visit Panama City or the beaches around the famous surf area of Bocas de Toro.

Who attends this kind of retreat? Is it ok that I am coming alone?

Absolutely! This retreat is an opportunity to meet people from all over the world with similar interests in travel, adventure and recreation. It is perfect for the solo traveler interested in visiting Panama in a semi-guided tour and experiencing new things. This retreat is also a wonderful occasion for friends and couples to connect away from every day life. The program is designed to give participants time to connect with others through the program and also offers a lot of free time to connect in nature and enjoy some good rest and relaxation. (Please note that the fees vary from single to shared rooms. We are happy to find you a roommate if you prefer double occupancy.)

Do I have to participate in all scheduled activities?

We have designed the schedule to enhance the time we will be sharing in Panama by balancing group and alone time. There is no obligation to any aspect of the schedule. Should you feel like being more independent, we simply request that you inform us, so we know you are safe.

Is this an alcohol-free trip?

This is your choice. Although alcoholic beverages are not included in the retreat package, it’s totally fine with us if you would like wine, beer or something else. We will also stop at a grocery store on the way to the Mount Totumas where you can pick up snacks and any other refreshments.

Is this retreat completely vegan?

No, we will offer fish and chicken. However, we will always have vegetarian and vegan meal options available. The menu has been carefully crafted to be wholesome and delicious. After all, the region of Volcan boasts the best food in the whole country.
