Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training

Becoming a yoga teacher

This yoga teacher training in Montreal is designed for a select group of students wanting to deepen their personal yoga practice, learn about the healing powers of ayurveda and establish practical tools for sharing and teaching yoga professionally.

Teaching yoga is one of the most satisfying occupations. Training students to become strong, thoughtful, and grounded yoga teachers is a great joy for me. It’s a way for me to honor my mentors and to contribute to the lineage of yoga. My goal in teaching is to empower students to heal themselves through what I call Sustainable Yoga for Long-Term Happiness. This approach to yoga practice trains students to assess their immediate needs— i.e. in terms of energy, rest, flexibility, stability or other—and then gives them creative tools to fulfill those needs within the context of a yoga class. Of course, ayurveda is other healing modality that we explore in great detail — nutrition, herbology, treatments, breathing techniques and general lifestyle considerations.

– Yasmin F. Gow, Facilitator

Kids Yoga Teacher Training

Becoming a Kids’ Yoga Teacher

Teaching kids yoga not only allows us to bear witness to incredible transformations, but also experience a fun and inspiring way to connect with our own inner child. Although kids’ yoga classes are rarely quiet and peaceful, it’s a joy to introduce children to the pleasure of relaxation and self-awareness. Moreover, the secret of teaching children is that these little yogis usually offer their instructor the best gifts in return: the gifts of imagination, creativity and humour.

This program is intended for a select group of students interested in teaching kids yoga to children aged 4 to 10 year old.

  • An interest in yoga and children’s education
  • A regular yoga practice

Teaching Kids Yoga

I am thrilled to assist others in sharing the amazing benefits of yoga with the little members of our community. How many times have I heard my adult clients lament that their lives would be so different if only they had learned stress-coping strategies as children!

This 20 hour course is an introduction to teaching children ages 4 to 10 years-old.
Yoga can be adapted for people of all ages and abilities. This ancient practice can be used for a variety of different benefits including relaxation, pain relief, improved concentration, athletic performance, flexibility, muscular strength and weight loss. A typical class consists of standing, balancing and sitting postures that work on alignment, strength, flexibility, consciousness of breath and acceptance of all physical sensations. Guided relaxation is part of all classes, but may only be reserved for the end. Students are encouraged to practice non-judgmental self-observation and practice within their limits.

  • Class sequencing for different ages;
  • Understanding the intention and benefits of kids’ yoga;
