My General Ayurvedic Tips and Biohacks for Well-being

I recently turned 43 —excuse me, Forty-Free! I have no problems aging because I feel I am getting better with time. A lot of this is due to some lifestyle changes I made over the last two years. As a busy entrepreneur and mom of two young kids, I’ve discovered that staying energized, focused, and healthy doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With these biohacks and simple tweaks to my daily routine, I’ve managed to balance home life and business.

Keeping a healthy routine has been a game-changer for my energy and mental clarity. By prioritizing things that take care of my body and mind—like starting the day with a good breakfast, staying active, getting enough sleep, and taking quick moments for myself—I’m able to stay productive and feel good, even with a crazy schedule.

So now, no more gatekeeping, get ready to be at your best! Here’s how I’ve built a routine that helps me stay energized and get things done—and how you can do the same! By making a few small tweaks to your daily habits, you can create a routine that works for your well-being.

Start Your Day with Hydration & Phyto-nutrients!

Every morning is a fresh start, and I’ve learned to make the most of it by starting with hydration. An effective biohack to kick off my day is a green drink packed with phytonutrients, fiber, and probiotics. Here are my favorite green drinks that have made a real difference in how I start my mornings:

➡️GreenSynergy Elixir
➡️BeWell Superfood Greens
➡️GutHealth Digestion & Microbiome Support

It’s a simple habit that helps balance blood sugar, support digestion, and maintain steady energy. It’s an easy way to start the day feeling clear and ready to go!

Fueling My Day with Whole Foods

Staying energized and focused throughout the day starts with the right fuel. By filling my plate with nourishing carbs, fresh veggies, high-quality protein, and healthy fats, I’m able to keep my energy steady and my mind sharp, no matter how busy things get.

My next biohack tip is to focus on eating balanced meals. As an entrepreneur, my day can get busy, but I’ve learned that healthy meals are key to staying energized. I make sure each meal includes vegetables, quality protein, healthy fats, and spices. Eating regularly and listening to my body’s needs helps me stay on track.
I focus on:

Carbs: Nourishing carbs like fruit, sweet potatoes, and sprouted lentils, keep me energized without the blood sugar spikes.

Vegetables: I aim for 8-9 servings of fresh veggies daily—think zucchini, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. These give me the vitamins and minerals I need to feel my best.
(Try this➡️ Plant-based Food plan to try many ways to incorporate vegetables into your meals.)

Protein: Whether it’s eggs, wild-caught salmon, or grass-fed beef, I make sure I’m eating the best-quality protein. (You can try my recipe of sweet and healthy protein balls and pancake.

Good Fats: Healthy fats like ghee, avocado, and coconut oil are staples in my diet, supporting my energy levels and brain function.
(Try this: ➡️  Kamut Blueberry Scones which uses ghee and coconut oil in this recipe.)

Eating According to the Seasons

I maintain balance by adjusting my meals to the changing seasons, embracing the unique rhythms of each time of year to support my body’s needs, and keeping my diet diverse and fulfilling.

One simple way I stay balanced is by eating with the seasons. In the colder months, I enjoy warm soups, stews, and roasted veggies to nourish my body. In the summer, I crave fresh salads, smoothies, and raw foods. Eating this way keeps me in tune with nature and makes meals both interesting and supportive of my body’s needs.

Involving my kids in seasonal food choices is another bonus—they love helping in the kitchen, and it’s a great way to teach them about healthy eating! Try these recipes with your family too:

Regular Movement for a Balanced Life

Movement fuels my energy and focus; I incorporate daily walks, yoga, stretching, and strength training to stay strong, tailoring my workouts to align with my cycle—more intense at the beginning and gentler as it progresses.

I believe that movement is key to staying energized and focused, especially when you’re balancing a business and a busy family life. I make time to take a walk after every meal, and I aim for 10,000 steps a day. Not only does this help me stay active, but it also clears my mind and recharges my energy for the next task at hand.

Yoga, stretching, and strength training also play a role in keeping my body strong and centered. Depending on where I am in my cycle, I adjust the intensity of my workouts—more challenging exercises at the start of my cycle and lighter activities towards the end. This has helped me stay in tune with my body and feel empowered throughout the month.

Managing Stress and Mental Wellness

Spending time in nature and practicing daily mental wellness helps me stay centered, calm, and focused, allowing me to be present for both my family and my business.

Meditation, breathing exercises, time in nature, and even taking a cold shower when things get too overwhelming help me stay grounded. Spending even just a few minutes a day focusing on my mental wellness has made a world of difference in my ability to show up fully for my family and my business.

Taking time to read, write, or even talk with family and friends help me reset when I’m feeling stressed. These small practices allow me to stay calm, clear-headed, and productive throughout the day.

Prioritizing Sleep

Quality sleep is key to staying energized. A calming bedtime routine helps me wake up refreshed and ready for the day.

After a busy day, I’ve learned that quality sleep is one of the most powerful tools for staying healthy and energized. I aim to be in bed by 11 pm and create a calming bedtime routine by dimming the lights, listening to soft music, and doing light stretching or meditation. By preparing my body and mind for rest, I wake up feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on whatever the next day brings.

Supplementing for Optimal Health

I use supplements to support my hormones, brain function, and energy.

I don’t always get everything I need from food alone, so I make sure to supplement with essential vitamins like D, A, K, and E to support my hormones and brain function. I also include magnesium, selenium, and trace minerals in my daily routine to help me stay sharp and energized. After doing a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, I’ve been able to fine-tune my supplement intake to ensure my body has everything it needs to perform at its best.

Learn Your Ayurvedic Dosha

Learning my Ayurvedic dosha has been a game-changer! Understanding my unique constitution helps me make food and lifestyle choices that support my body’s needs.

One of the best things I’ve done for myself is to learn about my Ayurvedic dosha, which is my unique constitution. In Ayurveda, there are three main doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each dosha represents a combination of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether) and has its own set of characteristics. Understanding my dosha has helped me tailor my food and lifestyle choices to support my body’s individual needs.

If you’re curious about how to identify your dosha and how it can impact your lifestyle, I’ve written a separate article on the topic. It goes deeper into understanding each dosha and how to create a personalized routine to optimize your health and well-being.➡️ (Click here)
