I’ll be honest: I sometimes have trouble celebrating myself.
When I finish something big—like a program, a project, or even a deeply personal goal—I tend to just move on to the next thing. I don’t pause. I don’t throw confetti. I barely take a breath. Maybe it’s an anxiety thing. Maybe it’s how I’ve learned to cope in a fast-moving world. But whatever it is, I’m gently unlearning it.
Because celebration is sacred.
This week marks the completion of our 108 Days of Practice, as well as the 15th anniversary of my Guinness World Record—a journey that began with 108 days of 108 Sun Salutations and culminated in a 32-hour yoga marathon.
It’s only now, fifteen years later, that I truly understand the importance of celebration—not just for myself, but for everyone who supported me, practiced alongside me, and walked a parallel path. The celebration is for us.
So whether you joined the full 108 days, dipped in occasionally, or simply followed along quietly, I hope you’ll pause to recognize your effort.
You showed up. That matters.
✨ 18 Ways to Celebrate Completion
You don’t need a party or a parade (although that’s allowed too). Sometimes the most meaningful celebrations are the ones that feel personal, nourishing, and real. Here are some soul-aligned ideas to help you mark this moment:]
- Buy yourself flowers – because you bloomed too.
- Have a picnic with friends – good food, great company, sunshine.
- Go on a little getaway – even one night can be medicine.
- Get a tattoo – a symbolic mark of the journey (I did! The mala on my right forearm honours the original 108 Days + Guinness Record.)
- Frame a photo of yourself practicing – honour the strength and beauty in that moment.
- Make a new vision board – new season, new dreams.
- Host a celebratory brunch – waffles, laughter, mimosas, hugs.
- Eat pancakes for dinner – because playfulness is part of the magic.
- Make a homemade sundae – with all your favourite toppings.
- Go to a concert with your best friend – move your body and sing at the top of your lungs.
- Take time off – a real break. Phone off. Feet up.
- Go camping – sleep under the stars, let nature reset you.
- Spend an afternoon in a hammock – no agenda, just peace.
- Get a beautiful new journal – begin your next chapter.
- Start a new book – fiction, memoir, poetry—something that inspires you.
- Take a long salt bath with essential oils – let it all soak in.
- Create a mini altar or ritual space – with symbols from your journey.
- Share your story – with a friend, on social media, or in your journal. Your path may inspire someone else’s.
🌀 What’s Next?
For me, it’s time to take a well-deserved break from social media and enjoy the rest of the summer with my kids. My practice will continue—it may evolve, but it won’t end.
The question is—will yours?
If you’re feeling the pull toward a new rhythm, I can help. I’ve just launched a Personal Practice Design offering: two 1:1 consultations to create a custom practice that fits your goals, schedule, and energy.
