Afternoon Routines

Lunch is the most important meal of the day in ayurveda. Eat lunch between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm to maximize your digestive strength and eat nutrient dense food that are right for you.

Walk after lunch, ideally outside. Do at least 100 steps after you eat in order to help you digest and avoid after-lunch sleepiness.

Time management with ayurveda: Complete urgent tasks and/or the ones that require your left brain (logic, math, accounting, administration, money) before 2pm. Do creative. right brain work between 2 pm and 6 pm. This way, you use Pitta energy to help you accomplish things and Vata energy to you dream, think & create ‘outside the box.’

Hydrate – Drink 300-500 ml of hydrating beverage like herbal tea or water at room. I like to add Energy Fizz & Mind Health from Arbonne to my afternoon water!

Close your work day with a short meditation, yoga practice and/or exercise before starting the after school & dinner rush. This way, you will be more patient, pleasant and present for your family in the evening.
